The Wake-Up International Youth Center is a youth training facility established to commemorate the visit of Pope Francis to Haemi in 2014 and to put into practice his message to young people: “Stay awake and make the world vibrant with energy.”
Our center is dedicated to promoting the beauty of Haemi, enriched by the long-standing history embraced by Gayasan Mountain, the roof of Naepo, as well as Haemieupseong Fortress, the Haemi International Catholic Shrine—Korea’s largest martyrdom site—and various cultural and tourism resources.
In addition, we aim to build a global platform for youth activities by actively utilizing the international recognition gained through the visit of Pope Francis and the network established during the 6th Asian Youth Day, which was prepared in collaboration with 22 countries.
